Coming this Sunday!

LONG BEACH — August 1, 2010 — Kids Korner is coming to the Long Beach Sunday Market, with hopes of teaching kids more about arts, crafts, and volunteerism.

The first Sunday of every month will be a big day for kids at the Long Beach Sunday Market! Brianne’s Basics, a charity business, will be hosting an arts and crafts booth for kids of all ages. In addition, they’ll be hosting a charity drive benefiting various organizations.

August 1 is the kick-off event. Kids will have a chance to make bookmarks, bag tags, and journals, all for a nominal fee of $1. They can also bring school supplies or troop support items to donate to Love In The Mirror and Soldier’s Angels.

The Market is located at Longfellow Elementary School on Bixby Road between Atlantic and Orange Avenue.

“I started this monthly event to show kids that they can be creative, they can be artistic, and they can donate to others no matter what their age is”, said Heather Nelson. “My family is heavily involved in charity work, and I want to show others that they can make a difference, no matter how small.”
